Forget about space and kitchen dimension

A lot of people focus on the detail things about the kitchen and maybe too focus on the decorative factors and ignore the space and dimension of their kitchen. The most common mistake is that they obstruct the access to the kitchen triangle. Kitchen trangle is the area in between stove, sink and refrigerator. Make sure you put them in the right spot due to your kitchen dimension to create easy access and efficient way to move when you are cooking your meal or washing your dishes. Consider the layout and the space of the kitchen. Make it L or U shape kitchen to make sure you don’t block the access to your kitchen triangle.

Another common mistake is ineffective storage space. Most kitchens have wasted storage space. It’s because kitchen always has a lot of stuffs like the additional installation itself which takes more space, some cabinets, and storages which are oddly arranged in the kitchen. How to make it efficient? First, for small kitchen you might have to install some built-in storage or cabinet. Though it gets you extra cost, but it is efficient and last longer. To lower the budget, you can replace the built-in storage with some cabinet which is fit to your kitchen triangle. Second, for large kitchen. Arrange the storage in excellent harmony with your kitchen triangle. It will be better for your design your own kitchen if you pick some cabinet with microwave outlet.

Poor lighting and unfit material

Another mistake people commonly make when they are designing their kitchen is poor lighting system. For a healthy and beautiful kitchen, you have to consider natural light and electricity light at the same time. Make sure your kitchen has enough natural light access from door and windows. Installing some glazed material will be a great idea. If you have small kitchen where you can have only minimal window, you can have some glass blocks to replace some bricks in the wall. Don’t forget about the lighting fixtures. You might have to install some fixture in the corner of your kitchen and around the kitchen cabinet. It is important not only to light the room, but also to make sure your kitchen is clean. At last, you should only use material to build your kitchen which is specifically designed for kitchen. Avoid any material which is easy burned when you design your own kitchen.
