Tips on Painting Kitchen Cabinets

Painting kitchen cabinets in your kitchen could be the easiest and most affordable kitchen remodeling project that you can do. The repainting project will only last for about two to three days, all depends on how big your kitchen is and it is quite easy for you to do it yourself without hiring any professional help. Here are some useful tips on painting your kitchen cabinets for you.
1. Remove All Doors and Organize the Hardware
Before you start project of painting kitchen cabinets, it is a good thing if you remove all the doors from the bases first. Aside from making it easier for you to paint your kitchen cabinets, it will also make the end result smoother and with less smudges on places you don’t want to smudge. After removing the doors, you should also organize the hardware such as the screws and the hinges neatly so that they will not be tangled. Put all the hardware inside a clear zip lock and label each bag with the appropriate name.

2. Tape Up every Surfaces
Taping up every surface on your kitchen is very important if you do not want any drip mark or any smudges on your kitchen surfaces. You might think that this is a complete waste of time but it will save you from having to worry about getting some drip marks on your kitchen countertops, flooring, or even on the wall. If you do not want to tape up every surface on your kitchen, you can always tape up some old newspaper instead of wasting all the tapes you have.
3. Use Brushes and Rollers
Some people might suggest choosing between paint brush and paint roller but the best way is to your both tools so that the end result of your painting will be perfect. Brush the inside of the beveled edges of the cabinet doors. You should not lay too many paints so that the paint does not come out too thick. When you are done with the edges, switch to the paint roller to paint the inside f the cabinet doors.
4. Find a Good Workspace
Find a good place to be used as a workspace. It is preferable if the workspace is outside, but if it is impossible to work outside you can always use the kitchen island as the workspace. Cover the kitchen island with adequate layers of papers or plastics so that your painting kitchen cabinets activity will not ruin the kitchen island.
